DOG SWALLOWS CELLPHONE! | - January 6, 1998 |
A mobile telephone that went missing was found after its owner called the number - and heard it ringing inside a friend's dog. Rachel Murray had left the telephone under her Christmas tree in north London as a gift for her flatmate, Tony Dangerfield, but on Christmas Day, he found only torn and chewed wrapping paper. When Murray called the number they heard a muffled sound, which seemed to be coming from near Dangerfield's bloodhound, Charlie. Murray said: "At first I thought Charlie was lying on the phone. Then I realised where it was. I couldn't believe he'd swallowed it." A day later, the phone emerged - in perfect working order. | |
